General Info

There are two different baseball entities for Gilbert youth.

North Story County Baseball: Kids from ages 9-14 (see age chart) play Youth Baseball in the North Story County Charter. The season runs from mid-April through the month of June and typically includes approximately 16 games. The league fee is currently $75, but is subject to change. The Gilbert teams will compete against other area teams including, but not limited to,  Story City, Roland, Jewell, Nevada, Zearing, and Ellsworth.

Gilbert Double A Baseball: Youth that have completed 1st or 2nd grade play a limited schedule with teams from the Central Iowa Rec League. The season starts in mid-May, just as the Heart of Iowa Soccer season is coming to a close. The practices will be located in Gilbert and all games will be held in one of the CIRL communities. This is a player/coach pitch league, where participants will receive encouragement, knowledge, and direction that will enable them to experience future success in the North Story County Baseball League.
