General Info & Registration

GYS Baseball is a recreational baseball program for boys currently enrolled in grades 1st-6th at Gilbert Schools in Gilbert, Iowa. Double A includes grades 1st and 2nd, Minors includes grades 3rd and 4th, and Majors includes grades 5th and 6th. All teams are coached by parent volunteers. Practices are held at the baseball fields and batting cages located at Gilbert Elementary School. Practice schedules are determined by field and coach availability. Practices are indoors at Gilbert Intermediate School at the beginning of the season.

The teams are part of the North Story Baseball League which is coordinated by the Central Iowa Recreation League (CIRL). The league includes Colo-Nesco, Collins Maxwell, Gilbert, Nevada, Roland-Story and South Hamilton. Games will be held in Gilbert and in the CIRL communities.

Grades 1st - 6th Double A (Grades 1st/2nd): $80 Minors (Grades 3rd/4th): $100 Majors (Grades 5th/6th): $100
*Registration includes a game jersey and hat. Not included: pants and socks (colors determined by coach).* *GYS will refund registration fees for players of head coaches.* GYS offers need-based scholarships to cover registration fees. Double A (Grades 1st/2nd): May 12 - June 26, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday (2x per week)
Minors (Grades 3rd/4th): April 21 - June 6, Monday & Thursday (end of year tournament week of June 9)
Majors (Grades 5th/6th): April 21 - June 6, Tuesday & Friday (end of year tournament week of June 9)

Field Locations

The GYS baseball fields are located south of Gilbert Elementary School (109 Rothmoor Dr, Gilbert, IA, 50105). All home games and practices are held at this location. Entrance to the fields and street parking is found along Christian Petersen Avenue. There is also parking available to the west of the fields at Upstill Park (109 Rothmoor Dr, Gilbert, IA, 50105).
